  • Magnum bottle. Perfect to quail and foie gras, does not need any more aging

  • Light, transparent amber with a fine red core. A bit dusty at the nose at first, but this soon gives way to fine red fruit tones like strawberries complemented by vanilla tones. A bit muted. Medium bodied, fine red fruit attack a la raspberries with a hint of cherry core bitterness and high acidity. Fine fruit through the whole curve. A linear and elegant wine that lacks complexity, but is still a fine example of a quite simple NsG. It doesn't exactly defend the rather steep price.

  • NSG is often a quite rustic burgundy, and this is surely proof of that. Still deep ruby colour with a quite light rim. Primary nose of dark cherries and ripe raspberries, some warm earth and a hint of vanilla/oak. Medium body, dry tannins, and only a modest amount of fruit. The impression in the mouth is more of a northern Rhone than a Burgundy. Dry, almost drying finish, but with good length. This is clearly a disappointment. This one has not enough fruit to benefit from more cellaring. Drink up. (could it be an "off" bottle?).

  • I thought this should have been mor eevolved and gained some secondary aromas, but no. Somewhat evolved colour with brown tones at the rim. Nose dominated by red currant, raspberries and minerals (silver polish?), not many signs of aging. Medium bodied, present tannins that soon give way to fresh raspberry and red currant tones. High acidity lifts the aftertaste into a lingering finish. Quite long. Not very complex, and given the price this is far, far from a good buy. Will it develop into something more complex. I have two bottles left, so we'll wait and see.

  • I really did not enjoy this and it was the weakest red burgundy in a line-up during a one day wine school event. Wine was poured and left in glass to air for 2-3 hours. It just came across as very brute, unrefined and there was little to hang my hat on to like. Not sure how this will develop. But if I had some bottles I would not touch for 5 years and hope for the best...
