Decanted to serve. Darkish red fruit, Asian spice, plum and purple flowers on the nose. Palate was quite dense but also very finesse with good latency. Still 2-3 years away from its optimal drinking window.

Wine Dinner: Mugneret Gibourg Vertical (Zazie's, San Francisco): Lighter bodied, elegant, red fruited; palate is light-medium bodied, still some youthful tannins, medium-plus acidity; medium-long finish. Excellent for the vintage. 93 Throughout the night, this was drinking surprisingly well especially with food. Well balanced and enjoyable, and full of character.

My first time trying this producer and it lived up to the hype. PNP at Wickman House. Not overly expressive on the nose but very smooth and supple on the palate with succulent red fruit, and a touch of spice. Good intensity, and overall very well balanced and elegant wine. I bought some more and will try to hold for another 3 to 5 years at least. 94+

Still weaking new oak fairly obviously. Even with that being said, a fairly open Chaignots from MG. I recall several past bottles of this and neighboring vintages to be rather dull and closed. This performed rather nicely, but was not particularly memorable.

Great stuff. Consistent with prior bottles. This overachieves in a mixed vintage.
