  4/8/2024 - TWSA Does not like this wine: 85 Points

  Nose: spices, black fruits, licorice, cinnamon, dark chocolate
  Notes: 13.5% ABV. Still very oak dominant at this moment. I've had plenty of Gibourg Mugneret by this time and I find this Domaine very difficult to open up and probably is a tad heavy in terms of winemaking. The heat in 2018 combined with the winemaking creates a disaster. This is quite unbalanced and simply too heavy, I don't mean this in a bad way but it probably will turn out sounding very bad but this is like a pinot from Napa. This might or might not gain the right amount of complexity and profile even with enough time, I remain skeptical but for the benefit of doubt I would suggest to approach this wine only after 2030.

  I gotta say this one surprised me. I thought it would be super closed, but it's quite evolved. Definitely whole cluster. Some greenness. Good now but will be awesome in 5-10 years from now :)

  Exactly what I would expect at this point. An interesting comparison with the recent 2012 as this is showing much more of the rich fruit of youth as well as the vintage. Very silky and layered fruit with the Vosne spice but it did seem to hit a point where it stopped opening up. I think I'll check back in a few years, but I expect that this will be another fine vintage of Chaignots.

  Smooth og ren - silkeføre.

  Lang finish med svært pene tanniner.
  Søstrene lager drømmeviner. 93-94p
