Schon die Nase verheisst nur gutes, Beeren, Zwetschgen, schon leicht pflanzliche Töne. Breite und Tiefe ist da. Heute gut und sicher auch noch in 5 Jahren...

The front end is beautiful blue fruits like blackberry and blueberry. Nice dusty tannins and wet stones. The finish is typical Merlot (herbaceous). This shined with Pork Loin stuffed with prunes and biscotti (from LaFrieda). The prunes brought out the jammy flavors of the wine. This could have been from Washington State. It seemed to be drinking well now, but I think it has plenty of life ahead. Very nice—one of the better Merlots that I have had. I would buy it again, especially for the price.

On the nose it was quite intense with dark fruits, but on the palate it was a lot drier than expected. Being 100% Merlot it is of course a full, intense wine, but it had a lot of structure, and wasn't just rebranded Ribena. Certainly the best Merlot I've had.
