Italian Merlot at its finest. Just a baby of course but like many 2019’s so enjoyable already. Aromas of plum, cherry, some tobacco and a hint of olive. On the palate waves of dark fruit, tobacco, and spice. Enjoyable on its own after a couple hours but shows beautifully with a nice Tuscan meal. 94+ (won't be shocked if this is close to 98 with some age).

Really too young to assess. Has a tightly-wound red fruit profile, enticing fruit with some acidity and dryness on the finish. Kind of what I'd expect from such a young wine. Needs at least five more years to start to show what it has.

My last bottle of this was 2/24/22 and at that time this was very primal. I was looking for a pizza pairing wine and a recent review by watcheslover had me reaching for this bottle.
At PNP this wine is firing right out of the gate. Chalky fine tannins with balanced acidity. The fruit is still a bit hidden but rounding out beautifully with ox. Half bottle saved for day two.
I'd easily score this wine 95 right now with a TON of upside. Maybe even perfection in 3-5 years with a tremendously long drinking window.
This was something I really wanted to like, beautiful label, name and given the rave reviews was almost too excited to try it I left it almost till the end to even nose it. Off the bat I noticed some funk/barnyard on the nose which I thought was strange since it wasn't bordeaux but the host said was typical of Galatrona. To me it could have been an off-bottle but I'm really not sure since was my first time. Was quite tannic on the palate though with good mouth feel, rustic and savoury. Felt more like a food wine. But really nothing spectacular and my opinion didnt change after 2hr of letting it sit in the glass hints of barnyard were still there. Given the high reviews I'm withholding my score until I've tasted another bottle from another source to be sure mine wasn't an off-bottle.
