  • Bought at a shop not long ago. Brownish. Scents of earth, mushrooms. Seems on the verge of oxidation. Still ok to drink. But not much fun.

  • Decanted 1 hour before dinner (grilled Filet Mignon). Black in the glass. On nose, sweet cherry, tobacco, dried cherry - very tight initially. On palate, full body, medium acidity/tannins and very long finish - nice density on palate and flavor profile consistent with nose. 93-94 range.

    Would buy again.

  • very well structured with finesse and legs to last.

  • The wine looks medium garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry, raspberry, hint of blackberry, plum, mushroom, oak, black pepper, rose and a little bit of a soy sauce sweetness. It tastes like blackberry, blueberry, light strawberry jam, plum, mushroom, dust, oak, lead pencil, black pepper and rose. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. The wine has a medium+ tannins that are well balanced with the acidity.

A really fun wine that can be aged for a time, I don't think this is the best it will be. In 5-10 years id like to see some of the heat and and spicy integrate more into the wine, looking forward to getting more of this and tasting it as it ages

  • Bright fruit, red cherries, flowers, and chocolate on the nose. It's quite ripe with a bit of heat, but has surprising complexity. The palate is quite tannic with red fruit, more cherries, cocoa, oak, and a slightly rustic quality that makes it feel more "Italian" and counteracts the fruit and ripeness. Nice finish. Despite the huge tannins, this was drinking reasonably well, but clearly better in 5+ years. 92+
