I kept this bottle around for fun. On a whim, I decided to pull it out tonight and try it. For a $7 bottle, it's surprisingly good. Did I expect great things? Not really. But given the context, this is a very approachable wine. Easy to drink all by itself.

color: purple velvet; nose: faint earth and oak; taste: medium-bodied mouth feel, vegetal x sour cherry taste, vegetal and spicy medium-length finish; overall: tight but pleasant value-priced Old World pour whose best days are ahead (2016-8?)

An aromatic wine that smelled like a delicate socialite. We noticed a sweet linger as it washed over, around and down our gullets. Slightly cheap in style, some tannic muscle, earth, stone and licorice. Not terribly expressive, but we were not bored when drinking from her. She put up a good fight, although it was not a clean fight; it was messy with a little slapstick. Worthy.
There was nothing uncharacteristic or "wrong" about it, but at or near the Ohio price point ($9) there are other offerings, particularly from Trader Joe's, that I find more satisfying.

Not worth drinking cheap Bordeaux. Thin, astringent, not fun.
