A taste of Bordeaux for a fraction of the money. Deep purple. Plum, raspberry, cherry. Pairs well with a juicy ribeye with its earthy taste and grippy tannins. NI:4, FI: 20, FC:8, B:2, L:4

75% cab/25% merlot. Bought a case last year based on well regarded vintage and <$10/bottle. Wanted a cheap "weeknight" bordeaux for when I didn't want to pop a nice bottle. Paired nicely with homemade veal chop. Still very firm tannins and but has softened considerably since a year ago when it was still rather astringent. Should continue to flesh out over next 5 years or so. Not a blockbuster, but punches the QPR ticket with room to evolve.

PnP, showing notes of dark berry and currant on the nose. Light black currant and blackberry flavors, with a touch of oak on the palate. Simple, and a decent value for 7 bucks.

Tannic, rough, started slowly but opened up a bit, drinkable but not a quaffer, drank with mezzes, some fruit but rustic, have 2 more bottles but will drink again on a slow day.

Someone brought this to a party: wan, dilute, completely mediocre.
