  • PnP (my bottle) served double-blind to some mates that had never tasted a Runcot; it worked out just fine. I had just had this less than a year ago, so I was confident it would show well. Given that there were nearly a dozen other bottles open already, I made sure this came toward the end of the lineup and therefore would have some extra time to slow-ox. That said, as elegant and as highly perfumed as this was on first pour, it became more so by the second taste. Can be enjoyed now or in a a decade. Elegant, full(-) body, resolving, very fine ripe tannins, and lovely sapidity. This was gone before the reveal, which kind of says it all. highly recommended

  • Small amount of sediment. Decanted 45 min and drank over next hour and a half. Dark brownish ruby red color. Red fruit on the nose with a bit of black pepper. Wonderful aromatic nose. Mouth - tannins fully resolved, no alcohol taste. Strawberry. Very balanced. Agreed with previous notes that 2 hr decant is the sweet spot. Wonderful Barolo. Brad - heavypourwine.com

  • No sediment. Limpid maroon shading to brown, slightest hint of bricking (but maybe a trick of the light). Nose is open right out of the bottle: berry fruit, vanilla. Well balanced on the tongue, refreshing, smooth, silky, understated.

Despite the age, it took about 2h of air for this to really open up. Leather, cherry liqueur, cola, silky. Powerful but fine tannic structure, cleansing without being drying. Great length! Just delicious. I enjoyed with steak, but this really needs a hearty pasta with plenty of cheese and a generous helping of truffles.

Really enjoyable now with a bit of air, but this is not going anywhere and has the bones to last for quite some time. I'm very curious to see where this goes...

  • Saturated Nebbiolo red with an opaque blood core. Primary, textbook (lol) nose of licorice, cherry jam, sandalwood, expensive leather, and a little creosote; quite generous, actually. The palate is dense and tannic but with plenty of young fruit, very firm but absolutely beautifully balanced. Fantastic tannic length; clean as a whistle with no distinguishable oak — it’s in there but deftly integrated. I don’t see this taking forever to open, though its impeccable balance will underwrite a long, long evolution. A splendid wine, full stop. (Popped and poured. Thanks, Tim!)
