  • The appearance is clear and medium ruby in colour. Tears and sediment are visible.

The nose is clean. The aromas have a pronounced intensity and show well-defined notes of black fruit (black plum, blackberry), floral characters (violet), pungent spice (black pepper), and oak (subtle chocolate). Swirling reveals additional notes of bottle-age characters (leather) and black fruit (bramble). The wine is developing.

On the palate, the wine is dry with medium(+) acidity, high alcohol, and medium(+) body. The medium level tannins are ripe and satin-like. The flavours have a medium intensity and show notes of black fruit (blackberry, black plum), bottle-age characters (leather), oak (chocolate, cinnamon, subtle cardamom), and pungent spice (black pepper). The finish has a medium(+) length, with bitter dark chocolate and sweet spice lingering on the palate.

This is a very good quality wine. The flavours are concentrated and have a great balance with the alcohol and the acidity. The well-integrated oak treatment complements the flavour profile. The satin-like tannins have a good balance with the acidity. In its current state, the wine shows primary, secondary, and tertiary characteristics. This wine displays a great varietal expression with typical black fruit, pungent spice, and chocolatey oak notes. The wine is very enjoyable and has a finish with great length.

The wine drinks well now, and has potential for further ageing. The fruit intensity is still great and the tertiary characteristics are starting to show. The acid and tannin structure should continue to support this wine as additional tertiary notes develop.

Finale discretamente lungo.
