1993 Double Blind Horizontal (Chris'): Pale ruby. Nose is shy and tired - not giving much. Palate also shows tired and even stripped of fruit, with acid dominating at the forefront.

Double Blind 1993s From Around the World (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind in what turned out to be a flight of 1993s. Didn't come across as Pinot Noir to me. Large black fruit with woodsy spice aromas. Firm on palate as well with structural elements in the forefront, detracting from the wine's overall balance. Shocked to see this Grand Cru Burgundy.

Clos de la Roche Dinner (Custom House - Chicago IL): Served in single blind flight with its Hubert Lignier 1993 counterpart. This was slightly flawed or completely fallen apart. Most likely flawed since I recently had a G Lignier 1993 Clos St.-Denis that was good.

Surprisingly good though certainly not profound. Still a few rough edges but probably in the front end of a potentially shorter drinking window.
