Opened 4 hours in advance. Ruby center, garnet edge. At first very pungent and gamy, the nose shifted more toward the green side with menthol and fennel. Medium weight, earthy, tannic base. Blackberry, soil, and licorice with strong, slightly tart acidity. You can sense ripe fruit in the background, but it is not about to show itself in the near future. The longer it went, the less forthcoming it became. While the Pruliers was surprisingly open recently, this is still pretty sturdy and locked up and needs a good 5 years at minimum.

Slightly muted, the oak is for my taste a tad too much but likely to integrate better over time.. Will likely be better but struggle to see this is a long distance runner. A bit rough on the edges, but the fruit is charming with the mineral footprint. OK length.

Drunk very young. Slightly dull, ruby hue with dim purple tinges. Big, attractive bouquet of initial violet opening to strawberries and blackcurrants. Medium bodied with a silky, viscous texture. Mid tannins; low acidity. Red cherries with a liquorice sweetness. Strong, sweet lingering finish.

France 2013 - Côte d'Or; 4/20/2013-4/23/2013 (Beaune): Tasted at the Domaine. From barrel. Shyer nose, nice pure NSG notes, darker berry and raspberry fruits. Red fruits on the palate with medium weight, excellent acidity and very drying tannins. Mineral on the finish which is quickly overtaken by the firm tannins. (90-93)
