Man, this is really good! Pronounced nose with dark fruit, fruitcake, orange candy, dried fruit; figs and dades and then also rather pronounced note of licorice root with its somewhat sweet and mild licorice sensation. I love it when I find this in VP, it’s not always there but it certainly is in this case. Well balanced palate living up to the nose. At a very good spot in its evolution!

Decanted approx 1 hour before Chirstmas dinner. The coloring was dark without any bricking on the rim. Very drinkable with cherry, chocolate and a touch of leather. Fully mature and drinking well. Very smooth without any raisin/prune notes.

Deep garnet in color with red edges. Nose of cherries and hint of chocolate. Tastes of bing cherries, milk chocolate, and hints of leather. Resolved tannins and good balance. Not complicated, but drinking well. Drink now and over the next 5 years.

Past its best. Tart and sweet, not much fruit - more like burnt oranges. Drinkable, but not pleasing. Storage prior to purchase was questionable.

FTLOP 12th Anniversary; 7/21/2017-7/23/2017 (Seattle, Washington): Semi-opaque. Dark purple center with lightning at the edges. A nose of Welch grape juice. Bing cherry on the pallet, with some bitterness on the finish. This is a nice drinker.
