Nose: lots and lots of oak. more oak than Silver Oak just tasted.
Palate: thick. red, some dark fruit. full bodied. nice finish. would have thought it would taste more tannic because of the nose, but it is not as tannic than initially thought. quite balanced, and complex. got the delicious factor to it.
Wine gifted by my good friend Bobby Staten at a dinner held at "Butcher's" in Park City/Utah Very deep and dark color, wine virtually opaque; some purple at the rim. Nose of leather, black berries, cocoa; some sweetness. A serious wine, surprisingly open and approachable at this young age. On palate surprisingly smooth, multi-layered. good grip, classy and restrained. Wine should improve tremendously over the next 5-10 years.
