Fragrant, dark fruit, dried black cherry, porty walnut notes, cinnamon and an animal/blood, mineral side that gives balance and interest. The palate is richly fruited with dates and dried sour cherries but with really lovely vibrancy that keeps the fruit fresh rather than over-born. Moderate tannins and lovely juice on the moderately long finish. I like this wine; it is extremely interesting while maintaining finesse and balance.

Chalky juicy sweet tannins and thick volcanic minerals. A lot of dark cherry and peppermint. Inky deep violet nose with flinty high-toned clarity. Reminded me of naturalist georgian wine matured in anfora. Concentrated but soft and velvetty. 89-90 pts.

Very tasty, quite interesting Nerello Mascalese. Great versatility made it perfect for lunch at North Square. Worked with every dish including seafood and those with a bit of spice. Easy to enjoy but captivating for its charm, elegance and depth.
