  • Flavoursome and delicious to drink on its own. A touch of airation is great to bring out the softer undertones. Berries and a full bodied mouth feel.

  • This mostly Merlot offering from Bordeaux is on the lighter, lean and juicy side. The color is only moderately opaque. The Merlot shines through in the approachable, ready to drink palate of quick hitting cherry, raspberry and currant fruit flavors. Some typical "Old World" dusty, chalky, mineral secondary flavor influences. Only a bit of oak. Time to drink up.

  • A classic blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Somewhat translucent cherry red color with almost colorless rims. Quite restrained and vague nose lacking in definition, showing indistinct aromas of some red berries and darker fruits along with light notes of alcohol and something synthetic and chemical. The wine is pretty light-bodied, thin and somewhat dilute on the palate. The taste is somewhat sweet on the tip of the tongue, but otherwise the wine feels quite dry and dull with somewhat flat flavors of candied red berries, some raspberry, a little bit of cherry, a hint of something metallic and a touch of bitterness. The flavors seem to avoid the back parts of the tongue. Overall the wine feels moderate in acidity with very light and mellow tannins. The finish is quite similar to the midpalate, tasting rather unpleasant with short flavors of thin red fruits that disappear almost immediately, leaving behind light hints of earth and peppery spice.

Ugh. This is a classic example of the plonk that Bordeaux churns out millions and millions of liters every year. The wine feels like it is made primarily from discarded grapes that are unfit for any high-quality wine: the wine is thin, flavors dilute and somewhat unclean and the whole package lacks focus, structure and length. This feels like as lousy as Bordeaux can get. But at only 8,88€ for a bottle, you shouldn't be that surprised. Avoid at all costs.
