A blend of Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Zuri Zerratie. The grapes are harvested noticeably later than normal, in October.
Medium deep lemony yellow color. Somewhat waxy and quite reticent, even slightly neutral nose with aromas of green herbs and a cool hint of vague melony fruit. The wine is dry, medium-bodied and lively on the palate with dry, crisp flavors of hay, chopped green herbs, steely minerality, tart green apples and a vague hint of spice. The finish is crisp, refreshing and quite long with rather pronounced minerality and somewhat neutral flavors of green herbs, apple peel bitterness, some steel and a hint of lime-driven citrus fruits.
A nice, slightly weightier and fruitier Txakolina that reminds me a bit more of Galician Albariños, whereas the Txakoli wines normally remind me more of Muscadets from the Loire valley. Not a "big and impressive" white, but rather a bright, focused and nicely austere one. However, at 17,30€, the wine feels priced above its quality price point.

It has almost no nose. On the palette I get melon and pineapple, lemon, and maybe a little peach.

A Txakolina in a different style -- a less spritzier, weightier style for it sub region. I an appreciate that but I wish it were $12.
