  • I let this breathe for about an hour before trying it. The wine is still a dark ruby color with minimal bricking. Delightful pure raspberry coulis on the nose--more fruit forward than herbal. Medium body, but a healthy wallop of acid and tannin. Plenty of raspberry/cassis on the palate, but with a more leathery component backing it up. The pyrazines arrive more on the finish, with thyme and oregano more than green bell pepper. Very nice, and quite reasonably priced from the winery!

  • Very much the same as the last TN and no need to repeat. A nice diversion from the global pandemic, especially after venturing out for an oil change for the new X4. With mole and cheeses sourced today from Feast.

  • Outstanding cab franc! Rich dark berry, oak on nose and taste. So smooth on the palate and went well with grilled NY Strip. Drink this now and you will not be disappointed!

  • The color of cranberry. Nose of raspberry, mushroom, with a touch of sandalwood and basil? Medium body. A touch of coffee and mocha on the finish. The tannins are fully integrated. A touch of smoke lingers on the finish. Almost no sediment. 13% alc. With crackers, crusty bread, cheeses, mole, ham and fennel salumi (wine is excellent with the latter). Recommended.

  • Cranberry, raspberry, mushroom and a touch of sandalwood. Something herbal, but is it green bell pepper or basil? It’s not rosemary. What’s missing? The usual Virginia pine resin. The ‘09 had no pine resin either. It’s taken years, but Luca and Jim and others have finally found a way to eliminate that unfortunate quality from their wines. How did they do it? I need to check into that. Otherwise, the wine shows a medium body/ The tannins are still a bit angular, but the wine is very approachable. A touch of smoke lingers on the finish. Almost no sediment. So good we pulled a second bottle. 13% alc. With crackers (including rice sesame), black walnut and cheddar paté, truffled cheese and comté. The rice crackers and black walnut and cheddar paté are excellent together. Recommended.
