Lighter style Cab Franc on the nose, showing fruit and subtly smoked meat. Spicy fruit on the palate, but not as much depth as I’d like on the finish. Well made, but not particularly memorable.

My handwritten tasting note say, "Damn good"....and I still stand by that. Black fruits and clove on palate with a smooth, lingering finish. An elegant wine with a smooth medium body. Well integrated acid and tannins. High intensity aromas: blackberry, black plum, cherry, vanilla, coffee, leather, earthy notes. Vineyard tasting: 3 of 5.

The '19 Cabernet Franc Reserve is a very pretty wine and was a pleasant surprise for me. The aromatics showed both sweet young fruit and savory aspects, with light red raspberry fruit complemented by anise, smoke, sage, and a touch of wood spice. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied with sweet light red fruit quickly transitioning into autumnal tones of smoke and savory herbs and spices, and medium acidity providing a sense of freshness. The tannins are notable on the palate from the mid to back end, but are relatively fine-grained and should fully integrate with a bit of age. Nit-picking, the wine lacks a bit of concentration on the palate and is light on primary fruit for such a young wine. The latter aspect makes it quite enjoyable today as the fruit is not overwhelming and some secondary characteristics already come through, but likely means it is an early to medium term drinker - although I have zero experience with this wine to give a precise guess at the aging profile.
