I almost never taste Quinta do Noval Porto Vintage Nacional. But I seem to have enjoyed 2 bottles this year! With layers of fig, raisins, chocolate covered cherries and Cointreau with licorice, the nose clearly rocks. Full-bodied, lusciously textured and rich, the wine leaves you with a massive wave of warm, sweet, cherry, dark chocolate and raisin liqueur. The finish goes on and on. A true, Port lovers dream.

Red currant and cherry, dry soil notes, sweet spices blend, hints of molasses. Lacks one level of complexity and persistence on the finish versus the best editions of this wine

FTLOP 11th Anniversary; 7/22/2016-7/24/2016 (Sammamish, Washington): Dark amber in color. Opaque with a touch of cloudiness. Some slight stemmy vegetative notes on the nose. Bring cherry on the palate. Some raspberry on the mid-palate and a very long, luscious finish.

My notes say "tangy, ripe and intense with deep red fruits. Great red spice notes on the complex finish. Just about at peak."
