Dinner at Boston Fish Market (Des Plaines, IL): This was initially quite pleasant with a nice touch of funky mushroom and oxidation on the nose and palate. Of a richer style, with some savory characteristics and quite a bit of umami as well. Then, the faint bit of funkiness started turning into wet cardboard...

The nose is all honey covered biscuits; big and room filling. A note of floral and maybe some ginger spice. The palate is that coupled with a nice lemon zest and a bit of stone. A big creamy champy but well balanced and super good. Need to buy more.

CT Texas Offline III; 11/18/2011-11/19/2011 (Galveston): Lots of straw color and flavor. Dry, yeasty, velvety, smooth, extremely tasty and mellow and sophisticated. Almost like it's a dusty taste in a good way. Makes you think of an early-fall day in the mountains---fresh, clean, yet sophisticated. Love it.

CT Texas III; 11/18/2011-11/21/2011 (Galveston, TX): Nice fresh young nose, lemon zest, toast, apple, pear, meyer lemon. On the palate, citrus, toast, apple, pear, and a nice mineral streak. Finishes very clean, this would go very well with big rich foods.
