Much as I like Neudorf's quality of winemaking, it is very difficult to make great Chardonnay when it is carrying 14% alcohol. The alcohol isn't overbearing at this stage of its youth but it prevents any trace of elegance or complexity to come through and I think that it will only dominate more as the wine ages.

Definitely better than a year and a half ago. Less sharp. Still a mineral type of Chardonnay. Not buttery at all. Pleasant now.
