  Deep yellow-gold colour, the aromas are bold and open with toast, ripe mango, yellow peach and then some tertiary notes showing development of smoke and orange barley water.
  The entry is bright with racy lemon-edged acidity, lots of rich texture and flavours of oranges on toast, lemon curd, toasty oak and then blood grapefruit.
  There is a fabulous intensity and structure to this mature Chardonnay that belies its age. The mid-palate and finish bring dried pineapple, mango flesh, sweet Meyer lemon, Valencia orange, lime marmalade, butter and toasty. It remains dry as a bone, tangy and fresh with no honey or almond paste distracting. Lovely depth of flavour and a long, exotic finish. Impressive for 18 yrs old!

  Didn't do it for me. Definitely identified as new world for its buttery and oaky characteristic. Someone mentioned nail polish. Lacks depth and precision.

  Blind White Burgundy Dinner (Chez Patrick, Sun Street, Hong Kong): Lemony light gold colour. Characterful nose of smoked bacon, nail polish remover, some white mushroom undertone, lightly toasted hazelnuts, melted butter, some distinct Chardonnay warm nettles and a nice drifting smoke element. Palate is very buttery but also very lemon sherberts.......great balance and poise.... but lacks elegance compared to the prior wines. Good mid palate of crushed grilled lemons. Some length and a rich creme caramel back end A touch of resonance in the head on the finish but rather monotone in tonight's company, lacking charm.
