Very nice right out of the bottle. Typical BdM characteristics, but well rounded and integrated. Smooth tannins and medium finish. Great with some braised short ribs.

1999s At Felidia (Felidia): Somewhat syrupy nose. Not tasting much of a traditional brunello bouquet. Picking up on seeming false notes of rose water and syrup, touch of alcohol. Stood out from other '99 sangiovese based wine in an odd way.

Neapolis: Brown spices, light brown sugar/molasses; sauteed shrooms, earth, leather, black clay, and a bit of burnt rubber; big rich tannins, intense mouth, dried herbs/spices--opened up and got floral, quite aromatic. Rich, deep, dark and great concentration. Big but somewhat rustic tannins.

An incredible Brunello. Decanted for about 45 mins. Creamy-coco with spiced bing cherry. Paired well with fresh made pasta and mixed mushroom, sausage, white wine sauce. Probably have a couple years left at least, maybe even 5 more year.
