  • My first try with this producer. In a delicious peak and very akin to PdS. Exciting.

  • Opened and decanted about 3 hours before drinking. Sip upon opening had some prunish/raisiny notes, which blew off during decant. Typical, beautiful brick red color. Restrained nose with some cedar and floral notes. Well integrated red fruits of strawberry and cherry alongside wood and tobacco spices. Smooth tannins and long finish. Great with pasta bolognese!

  • A very classy mature Brunello, with a core of dried cherry, plum and prune surrounded by resolved cocoa powder tannins. Flashes of mint show that although it's fully mature it retains freshness. It's relaxed and comfortable, unwound. I was very happy with it. It may well keep for years and years but in my opinion no need to wait.

  • Needed 90 minutes after decant to come into its own — brickish red colors evidence of fully aged, mature wine. Drink now — don’t hold much longer.

  • Paired with a homemade Fettuccine all Salsiccia. Opened 1-hour before dinner (no decant). Initially closed, firm tannins and a round mouthful, but mostly muted fruit. Nose was gorgeous, lots of cherries, earth, prunes, wild mushroom. Very promising. 60 minutes in, the wine came about, balancing out and displaying generous (albeit somewhat straightforward) fruit, superb structure and roundness and well integrated tannins. Finnish was long with quite a grip which complemented the dish. Overall a delicious wine.

This is now entering it's peak drinking window, but should balance out over the next 2-3 years, displaying (hopefully) slightly softer tannins and a bit more complexity, which might bring it into 92-93 points territory. Right now drinking solidly and deliciously and merriting 91 points in my mind.
