Riojan investigation (Frank's place in Matraville): From Coravin. Fresh and jubey on the nose with red berries dominant - feels like semi carbonic maceration, a little sweet spice, with time some meaty elements. The palate is very much a reflection of the nose with touches of anisee and quite finely textured, though drying, tannins. Kind of nice.

Wow, I really like this style. Lightish bodied (for a Tempranillo), lightish oak treatment, and lowish alcohol (13.5%), yet packed with bright, classically rendered Tempranillo flavor profile. Don't know how this might age, probably not very well, but really good right now. My style. 88pts pure quality, 91pts personal preference.

Medium ruby colour. Very expressive notes with notes of ripe strawberry, dark plums, violets, liquorice and cream.
Dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. The tannins are medium with a ripe rounded texture. It has a medium body and a warm alcohol. The flavours and the finish are medium(+).
It is a nice wine. Interesting as a short-aged example of Tempranillo, displaying some interesting floral notes. Mostly balanced in the mouth, albeit the alcohol is too warm to be totally balanced. Nice concentration and finish. It has some tannic structure and fruit concentration to integrate better its aromas in the next 1-2 years.

Floral nose - violets. Dark plums and smooth soft tannins that finish with a dry mouthfeel. Very enjoyable with food accompanied.

Interesting wine. Lean and flavorful, with classic tempranillo notes. Not oaky at all. Seems like it will age well.
