Opened during Kippur evening. Full body, deep purple color. Intense black fruits, leather and black pepper aroma. Starts as sweet cherry and plum palate but with aeration shows cherry’s acidity, black olives and long hot, liquorice finish. Powerful, rich and complex but still fresh and juicy, well balanced in spite high alcohol, completely integrated tannins. Food friendly, best match is medium rare beef steak. Serve 18ºC - 20ºC. Open two hours ahead. Drink now and next six years.

The Yatir was sweet and oaky up front but really settled overnight into a great wine. Forest makes you think forest floor, but it seems aptly-named. Dark purple fruit, tannic and leathery.

Exciting Israeli red wines; 1/1/2017-2/28/2017 (Tel Aviv): Dark purple. Sweet nose of toffee, cassis sorbet, blackberry pastilles, hints of tobacco. Ripe up front, but very soft, a bit sweet, medium length, tongue-coating finish. Nice minerality. Will surely improve with time.

good but not as good as expected. Don't think it will improve/change with more time.

Nice wine, still well balanced but need at least another year to develop and soften its tannins
