Yatir, Forest, 2003: A perfectly mature Israeli wine, showing like I would love many more Israeli wines to show with age. Very dark garnet in color. On the nose, ripe, crushed blackberries and wild blueberries, with hints of cigar box, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Full-bodied, concentrated, with a rich, velvety texture. On the palate, sweet (but not datey) wild blueberries, blackberries and black currants, followed by black licorice, spices, cinnamon, vanilla and cloves, medium-acidity and well-integrated tannins on the rich and chewy (sediments) finish. Great with a fat, smoked chuck roast. 15% Abv. Drink up. 93

Top Israeli wine tasting (my home): dark red-purple wonderful Bordeaux style nose with cedar, blackcurrant and dried herbs. amazing! full bodied, firm tannins, nice acidity, rich ripe fruity flavours well integrated, smooth, mature, with notes of leather and some oak-vanilla, as well as spicy hints. Silky and round. Long enjoyable finish. Seems at best even now.

I thought this was amazing. Very mature, still nice fruit, black and some red berries, well integrated, smooth and mature. Not bold or fruit forward, deep and dark. Drink now, but you will be rewarded for your patience here.

Still going strong and not showing signs of age. Bordeaux-like on the nose with cedar, blackcurrant and dried herbs, but on the palate more fruit-forward, with a slightly sweet mid-palate and only a hint remains of that green pepper. Silky and round.
