bottle explains that this wine is the product of Viognier from three different vineyards: Clendenen’s own “Bon Climat” vineyard, the Sanford and Benedict vineyard, and the Vogelzang vineyard. Initial nose of black olives upon opening bottle and inserting nose for first waft. In glass, mineral, black olives, sweetness, and perfume. A pique, reminiscent of chardonnay, follows upon drinking. Vanilla, apricot/peach, and perfume arise from behind the minerally odorous façade. Pleasant, luscious once the mineral nose dissipates: begins to taste more and more like apricot purée. Yes, I too could drink a lot of this.

Great example of the grape. More in common with Condrieu than Cali. Peach and spice on the nose with the same on the palate with a great finish. Outstanding bottle.

Had at 11-person Tara/Donna dinner. Very good "sugar" with the "spice" mixed into the goat cheese of the entree. This is an excellent viognier, sad that it is my last.

crisp nose, perhaps smells like a stream, or the rocks on the bottom of the stream might smell. In the mouth a hint of peach.
