Deep ruby. Medium intensity nose with aromas of red cherries, raspberries, toast, violets. On the palate, medium body dry wine with medium acidity and flavors of blackberries, bramble, black cherries, green tannins. Would hold another 3-5 years for tannins to soften.

Good depth of flavor, red fruit, licorice, oak spice, dark chocolate -- I have to assume there is some new oak in play here -- good structure with tannic grip and acidic spine.

Dark red with slight violet hues. Dark fruit, red fruit on the palate and nose. Generous and concentrated, with firm, acidic structure. Very good, everyday red table wine, but not memorable. (85-87pts)

Wow, what a nice surprise. This bottle may be the best I've ever had under $20. Let it open for 1-2 hours then enjoy the dark cherries, hint of chocolate and leather. This is much darker than the rosso or Brunello and had the color of a super Tuscan. Really a phenomenal value and I'll be buying more.
