going into day 2. medium ruby, leggy. very stoney. black cherry pits. wonderful minerality wrapped in dark old world fruit. positive lack of polish. medium+ acidity. almost high acid. wow, showing med+ tannin, med+ body, flavors are developing, with leather and a quiet bitter. the palate does show a bit wacky right now, but it's got better days ahead.

Color clear, medium + ruby. Nose is clean, medium intensity with notes of fruit and secondary – barrel. Youthful. Palate is dry, medium alchohol. Tannins are high and slightly green. Acidity is high. Flavor intensity is medium -, flavors are of sour cherry and secondary. Finish is short because the tannin strikingly cuts it off. Overall this is hard to assess. It is youthful wine, it has the tannins and acidity to age. However, the flavor intensity does not seem strong enough to develop. On the other hand, the bottle was just opened and it may broaden out and release with air. I would guess that this becomes more interesting and easier to assess as it opens. Sangiovese, guessing some form of Brunello.

Dark black cherry color...wonderful nose of sweet earth, dried rose/orange, coffee, smoked cherry wood spice. Pretty tannic and structured....but as it opens...you get a mouthful of dusty cherry spice, crushed berries, some raisin, tar. Big sour skin acidity, that work well with food, and a good dose of dryness from the tannin and wood. Very tasty, good florals, spice.....I like it!

Cherries. This has a lot of structure, and some tannins, but I don't find them obtrusive at all. In fact, I find this is really firing on all cylinders right now, with great balance. It has many of the characteristics of Brunello, and at the price is a superb value.

Solid core with lots of textural pleasure. Fattened out midpalate on day two. Red and black liquorice and dark earth. Nice little wine.
