Drinking with sautéed sausage, kale and tomatoes with Spaghetti alla Chitarra. Color is purple-red with very little fade at the edge. Aromas of cherries, wet earth and some garrigue. On the palate this is very smooth with medium- acidity and medium- tannin. The wine passes from mouth-watering fruit through a bit of finely integrated tannin to a slightly mouth-watering finish. I think this bottle is approaching its peak as it took just a couple of minutes in the glass to compose itself. The wine closes up a bit at times, but only needs one swirl to reopen. Delicious with and after dinner.

Good energy and structure for a $20 Supertuscan, fits the vintage character, ripe fruit but not too polished, like a solid entry level Rosso di Montalcino with a bit of Bordeaux character.
Talk about value for money... It took about 45 minutes to open up. It started with a tightness with acidity but now it's tannins, rich drinking, classic Sangiovese with elegance. I mean, you can't get a better table wine that has the balls to be punching up towards its Brunello counterpart.
In fact, having had both the Brunello by Casanova di Neri of the 2016 vintage and the Irrosso, I would prefer to drink the Irrosso rn. The Brunello needs 10 years.

Still drinking great on this last bottle. Tannins quite subdued so drink up IMO. 90+ points on this amazing QPR IGT.

Sexy red fruit with orangepeel overtones, darker fruit too. A bit of wood and mushroom. Great value!
