My last bottle: I hadn't really expected it to have survived, but it turns out that waiting 26 years to drink it was the right move. Initial funk, no tannin but marked acidity, tending towards the ethereal, with an array of herbal flavors and a strong element of kirsch, and no off-notes.

My daughter tasted it first and said, "It tastes of honey, and then blood." The honey is primarily in the aroma, which is quite rich and sweet, very alluring. The blood is in the taste, which diverges dramatically from the aroma. As much as the wine is wonderful to smell, it is disappointing to taste -- thin and metallic. This is a rich, rustic southern Rhone which has not really survived intact to the age of 25. If you have any, open it soon and enjoy the smell, and see if you can resist drinking any.

In a perfect spot right now. Perfect balance of dissolved red fruits, smokey notes and saline herbal aromatics. The tannins are still sensible but I wouldn’t wait too long to drink this one up. Southern rhone can’t get much better than this

Garnet with some translucency Nose reveals some stems, some strawberry some garrigue. P: good follow through on palate. Palate finish has some rusticity and herbaceousness. Its nice.
