The veritable iron fist in a velvet glove. Blackberry, plum and vanilla. Very primary driven. Only slightest of garnet brick although plenty of sediment. Medium + tannins, high acidity, long finish. Nicely balanced despite 15% alcohol. Drink now (we did 3 hour decant) or cellar for more integrated affair. Or do both, as I hope to do one day!

Emirates flight. Tried after the 06 Cos and was fearing this could be too ripe in comparison but an equally beautiful wine. A touch lighter with a bit less depth than the Cos but excellent balance here too and I thought more Bdx than typical Tuscan in style on that occasion.

Edward brought this in the Dragon Vintage gathering and it was the last bottle to serve. It was the easiest bottle to guess it right, a very Solaia character but light in structure.

This is ready. I has entered a beautiful drinking window in which I don't feel it will last much longer. The nose is powerful and enchanting. Leading with earthy tones, truffle, black pepper, green pepper, leather and spices. The palate is very smooth, almost no tannins, just a hint. Medium finish. Very left bank in its structure with green pepper forward and a spicy finish.

Super rich, coconut notes (from oak?), high acidity, obviously quite young still. Was not super impressed but give it time. Ranked #6/10. Dirty Dozen Blind Tuscan dinner at La Paella
