Bob's cellar. Fine garnet red, very little bricking. Mushrooms, compost, vegetal nose, gentle pepper and spice, red fruit, black cherry cassis, tiny menthol and eucalyptus. Opening taste is smooth, velvet, still some peppery tannin, with dark cassis and piqued by redcurrant. With air, the dark fruit rises to the fore, tannins frame this. It's still powerful after all these years, cranberry tartness. Retains a fullness, and I preferred the '98.

Beautiful wine that is aging perfectly. This vintage is missing the traditional eucalyptus knows that I picked up in others. Silky, smooth, can easily be drunk for another 20 years

Stored in the cellar for 27 years, decanted 2 hours prior to drinking, consumed over a 2 hour period.
A hint of bricking in the colour, but surprisingly little. A soft, gentle yet powerful palate that built and built. Hints of violets and blue fruits - subtle but noticeable.
Beautifully balanced, with a long delightful finish
Overall, a sublime wine at its absolute peak but capable of going much longer.

Magnificent 6 Ride Again: Blind. Violet, charcoal, tobacco and spices with licorice as well. Excellent balance and poise on the palate, feels almost full mature but still retains a vibrant core. Superb now but no further upside for me based on this bottle.
