Golden colour. Initial notes of petroleum and pineapple. Very backwards and acidic to begin with, but opened up nicely in the glass and showed more round and balanced texture after ~30 minutes in the glass. A good wine, but this bottle was not up to par with previous bottles. It should have been able to stand the test of time, but this bottle was past its best.

French wines 1996 tasting (DTV): Golden color, and a nose of petrol, gasoline, flowers and overripe pineapple. The taste is dry, but has a honeyed kind of fruity feel to it. Acidity and the fruit sweetness is in perfect balance. Very pleasant, elegant mouthfeel, with lemon, pineapple and spice still going strong, even with the signs of aging starting to show. Surreal experience.

Interesting complex nose, but the fruit has entirely gone.

Sunday dinner (Scott's): Really rich ripe yellow fruit with a clear streak of sweetness. It really shined more with food than as a quaffer. 92-93 pts.

It seemed slightly over the hill with some oxidized notes. I would recommend drinking up.
