Paired great with well seasoned NY Strips. Color was a little cloudy. Nose was boysenberry and lots of pickle brine. Palate was beautiful dark fruit. Nice balance and a medium finish. While this is drinking extremely well, I wouldn't hold on to these too much longer, maybe another 3/4 years.
Inky purple. Powerful aromas of dried berries, coffee, game and earth. Starts out almost too sweet but escapes being syrupy thanks to a long, tart finish. By the next day, this had become higher toned and gained some floral notes. Unmistakably Syrah and unmistakably California. I would have said this was much younger than its bottle age. I will keep my last bottle another few years.
