Decanted shortly before tasting. Significiant sediment. Very dark almost black. Classic syrah white pepper on the nose; big and a bit hot (15.1 abv) on the palate. 20 years old and still not showing finesse; this wine is a brute and interesting but not enjoyable.

Surprisingly, this is quite stunning and in a great state. The fruit is open and lush and the age has certainly improved the wine. Lovely aged flavors of spices, blood and wet leaves but still with a good fruit core. The wine is perhaps a bit to heavy on the alcohol but at the right temperature it works very nicely with the deep and dense flavors.

Wowzer of a wine, even after almost 20 years. Black olives, bacon, dark berries on the nose with a massively luscious palate. Yet it's all in perfect balance.

Opened 30 minutes ago then decanted just before tasting. Inky dark red with significant sediment. Rich deep syrah nose with sweet fruit on the finish; no perceptible tannins but this is such a big wine hard to tell. Not a lot of complexity at age 18, so who knows about further aging. Impressive but not that interesting.
