Piemonte: Truffles instead of Turkey; 11/23/2023-12/2/2023 (Barolo, Barbaresco, Alto Piemonte and of course Alba): This wine is still one with a bit of a veil over it. The fruit is probably there and I suspect will come out with some more time or at least the oak will integrate and this will be a more complete wine but at this time it’s just a bit muted and so the most distinct sense is the tannin which is more and drying. There is this background of freshness that wants to be there. More time.

Rusty, translucent ruby in color. Bricking rim. Powerful nose. Floral notes, balsamic, black licorice. Rustic cedar barn. Full bodied, grip, tannin still there, but nicely balanced. Longish finish. Tastes like the nose. Great wine, better with some food. Should continue to age well.
Frozen pizza and homemade Greek salad c,o Britt.
