  • Really nice red from the inland mountains of Provence. 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. Not as hot and extracted as many from the Southern Rhone. More feminine. Vineyards have some elevation and lots of mistral wind, and it shows in the grapes. Kermit Lynch said the wine is like a mix of Domaine Tempier, Vieux Telegraph and Trévallon. Well balanced, fruity, very pleasant. Cherries, strawberry, garrigue, a bit of dirt and minerality, medium high acidity (high for Grenache), medium tannins. Paired with with a cheese and charcuterie platter.

Excellente bouteille!!

  • A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 100% destemmed, raised in foudres, bottled unfiltered and unfined, 13.5% ABV. Initially quite autumnal and leathery, opens up nicely with some air. Sombre colour, medium deep, starts to brown at the edges; the nose reflects the warmth of the vintage (but is neither raisiny nor jammy), spices and earth, pleasantly sweet fruit and a nice leathery quality, good depth; the palate has a medium body, is fresh and balanced, with lovely red and blue crushed fruit, a satiny texture and gentle phenolics; complete finish, good length. Very different from the 2008 - as it should be. At Brasserie Les Variétés, Saint-Remy de Provence, less than 5 km from the winery. Hard to get more local than this!

  • Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2016-03; Provence. (@ RvD): In the bouquet dark berries like blackberries and blackcurrants, herbs and rustic flavors. On the palate ripe dark berries, licorice, earth, chocolate, some green bell pepper, fresh acidity and round tannin. Ready now and still youthful; so no hurry. 89+
