Enjoyed with home-made Japanese food - sautéed pork, a side of zucchini and onion, bit of radish on the side, and miso - over two hours. medium body, bit of bricking noticeable. fragrant and delicate to the nose but with a fine tannic spine. some secondary notes (light beef broth, pickled prunes) beginning to emerge. the vintage speaks here, as it is not overtly expressive. but the 12.8% alcohol makes it eminently drinkable and a really fine food accompaniment -

Solid but smallish sediment. Violets and cola Vosne-Romanée nose. Sour cherry palate. Still quite restrained and acid. Time should help but it will never be an expressive VR. The more it sits in the glass, the more polarised it becomes. Sour, astringent, tannic. Not a good trend. A little better after 8 hours. I will leave it several years before revisiting.

Adelaide trip; 7/26/2018-7/29/2018 (Adelaide and the surrounding environs): Earthy, red and black berry, sweet spice, a touch of cedar and stalks. Juicy and, for me, a little sour and sharp for Vosne Romanee. More berry and cherry, gritty and slightly chalky tannic grip across the mid-palate, medium plus length. Hmm.

Ripe and juicy cherry fruit is tinged with spice. There are whiffs of cola from the barrel and a hint of meaty reduction. The palate is fleshy and fruit forward, with reasonable density and just a hint of bitterness on the finish.

Litt perlende 15 min fra åpning. Etter 30 min i glass, typisk VR med god syrlig frukt, spice, våt stein. Bra balanse.
