Opened and decanted roughly 30 minutes. Nose is medium intensity of sweet and sour red cherries, black cherry, cranberries, orange bitters, celery, dried leaves, baking spices. Palette is still quite primary, sweet black cherry dominates, followed by acidic tart cranberry and spicy, fine tannic finish that lingers. A bit disjointed but really nice. Somehow Im not sure that this will come together with more time in bottle but I have one left and will keep it another couple of years to find out.

Wines That Don't Suck at Ciao Bella: Sappy and dense with poblano pepper that got a little more green with air. There's depth here that I don't find in their Sonoma coast, and it seems to require some more time to resolve itself.

PNP. Pale magenta color, with modest rim fade. Cherry, hazelnut, and minerality. Smooth, dry palate, with sandy, tongue coating acidity. Firm, full, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish.
This has aged very well. My notes don’t do it justice.

Craig Tasting - WTDS (Ciao Bella - Bloomington): PnP - This wine was paired with a 2009 RM SV "Old Vines." This is a nice wine, with bright acidity and rich cherry fruit, but slightly disjointed. Acidity was apparent, this wine also showed a streak of minerality. I think this still needs to integrate further to really shine. I am not sure it will reach the level of the Old Vines, but it should get much closer. 91-92 today, but should improve with some additional cellar time or a healthy decant.

Delicious sour red cherries, floral, and spice notes on the nose and ripe palate with hints of orange rind culminating in a long finish.
