Very prominent toasted oak on the nose. This was very broad/weighty on the palate, with nuts and a tinge of honey. Will be interesting to see how this will develop with time...

I think this may have been premoxed :-(. If not totally gone, it definitely was showing overly honeyed. A shame, because you could see potential under the oxidation.

Toasted nuts, citrus fruit, honey, and pears on the nose. It was a crispy wine with high acidity and minerality with a long finish. A very powerful and forward montrachet that lacks elegance. But I enjoy this style very much. Plenty of life left.

2004 Montrachet (Chez Schmidt - Chicago IL): Flight of 2004 Montrachet. Moderately ripe apple and pear aromas and flavors with moderate spice and floral elements, but very impressive concentration. Minerality and acidity pick up from middle to finish, helping provide a very long, textured finish.
