The wine shows again very tight oak frame
The fruit is ripe, plush but also a bit restrained, almond, some roasted notes, licorice, with time the fruit gets darker, black cherries, some olive notes
Palate juicy, black fruit, cherries, tight tannins, oak upfront again restraining the fruit, med body, bitter notes too, med finish
    Feels very youthful still

  • Huge nose of black fruit, chimney smoke, lead pencil, very complex intellectual nose... Huge black fruit concentration, sappy acidity, lengh of 30 sec, very impressive moulin a vent, almost a crossing between Cote Rotie and Burgundy!!

  • Asperg Wine Syndrome Tasting Group: Clear, deep ruby color, astonishingly intense for a Gamay. Clean, medium intense, developin nose with lots of red fruit and herbs. Quite dense.
Dry, medium acidity. On the palate lots of spices, red and dark fruit, saltiness and depth. Very powerful and concentrated. This wine shows perfectly what can be achieved from Gamay with low yields, great terroir and a good vintner. But: the medium, mellow tannin is very drying on the palate and that ruins the whole wine for me. Due to that I can’t imagine that this wine has a bright future, because I guess the tannin will continue to dry out the palate. What a pitty, could have been a very good wine… 88. Bad PQR.
