Bordeaux Visits - November 2023: Deep garnet color. Aromas of fresh red currant and blackberry, cedar, paprika, clove and lavender. Fresh and succulent ripeness on the palate, both rich and lively, well-integrated and intense, adding black tea and melted stone notes to the mix from the bouquet. Long, ripe, fine tannins with very nice intensity and length on the finish.

Tasting at Château Margaux. Deep dark red. Fruit and oak on the nose. Fresh concentrated blackberries, licorice. Excellently balanced wine, feminine elegance. Very fine tannins. Uncorked 4hr. Full bodied. 74% Cab Sauv, 21% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot, 1% Cab Franc.

A fin texture here but showing leaner and less generous than I expected. The material is there so perhaps it needs more time but I expected something a little better given the vintage. Tasted at the Chateau.

Tasted at Chateau. Deep red. Perfumed nose of red and blue fruit. Palate has ripe rich fruit of a warm year with elegant tannins and well-integrated oak. Great balance and medium length. Almost richer than than 2011 Margaux tasted side by side but without the seamlessness, length and complexity.

Medium nose intensity with notes of black fruits, vanilla, flora, violet, toast. Medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. Still youthful.
