Still pretty tight if a bit austere even after a 1H+ decant. DannyG note is instructive. Not sure how much better it gets or if it just stays here and declines later.

An off year for the Barolo wines but GR, whom I have visited twice, makes a great wine, even with difficult conditions. I always buy his wines as soon as it released, good or bad years. Davide, the winemaker and owner, is very particular on quality of the wines and this did not disappoint...Dark cherries, pomegranate, liquorice, soil/earth, herbs, cedar spice, floral and tannins and acid integrated with the fruits to give a reasonable finish.

Translucent ruby in color, medium bodied. Red fruits , hints of cigar box, red licorice, some floral notes Unctuous and astringent. Loads of red fruit, drinks like a heavier wine. Lots of spice. Nice acidity, well balanced. I want to award it an extra point over the bottle I had almost 12 months ago, I think my next bottle will be awared 93 points. This is excellent wine at a fair price. Case worthy!

Translucent ruby in color, medium bodied Herbaceous notes, red currents, some hints of cigar box, Surprisingly bolder than I would have expected. Silky tannin, medium finish, perfectly balanced. Tastes like the nose. This wine is fantastic for the price. (+1pt). Approachable now, but should age well. Case worthy for sure.
