  • Lovely wine, nose of violets, roses, tar and dark cherry. Palate delivered similar notes with smooth tannins, if not still quite grippy, and a strong acidic backbone. Medium long finish. Plenty of life in this yet.

  • Drunk over two nights. Decanted for 3 hours first night and under vacuvin overnight.

Immediately on opening, still taught. A little must to the nose that quickly faded. With air this opened up nicely. Cherries, violets, tar, tea. Tannins still quite firm. Good acidity.

Second night this was really hitting it's stride. Smooth, lush, complex, fruit a little less prominent, lovely depth, great balance. Medium/full body, medium/long finish. Plenty of years in this yet.

  • 12 Rosso Barolo

Fresh and juicy, with savoury salt, pepper and herbal spread.

    Raspberry and dark chocolate nose.

Slippery and thick red fruit on entry, almost liqueur. Medium to full bodied.

Quickly gets very herbal, Rosemary. With salt and pepper mix. Thick, smallgoods flecked tannins.

A lick of sappy autumn leaves and tabac switch it up through the finish.

Vibrant, plump fresh and young. Needs more time, say 3 years, but so enjoyable now. 4.25/5 , 94.

  • Drank over 5 nights, vacuvin'd over the week. On opening, cherries, violets, still youthful, powerful tannins, grippy. On day 5, huge development. Much more secondary. Tar, tobacco, cedar wood, roses and violets. Tannins more refined but still fairly powerful. Strong acidity, good balance though. Long finish. Really lovely wine with complex character that unfolded o er the week. Plenty of years in this yet.
