  • Popped 30 minutes before first pour and consumed over 4 hours, evolved positively through-out the consumption period - last sip was the best (always a good indicator). Nose: Medium plus expressiveness, starting to show its age through earthy aromas with lemon pie, buttered popcorn, and subdued aromas of wet stone and minerals that subside with time. Palate: Medium-full bodied, nice creamy mouth-feel, subtle citrus fruit flavors up front, which explode through the mid-palate to back-end and are joined by butter, minerals and subdued lemon and apricot flavors. Finish: Medium plus length sense of butter, minerals, and tart citrus fruit. Very - very interesting, everything doesn't quite come together, but the positives far out weigh the negatives - outstanding potential here.

  • This wine keeps getting better each time I have it. Again, the most beautiful golden color I've come across in a wine. There is a smoothness to the wine that reminds me of vanilla or butter, but it's something different than your typical overly oaked cali chard. It's more round and smooth than fat. Either way, I enjoyed it immensely.

  • I enjoyed this bottle more than the previous ones the past few years. As always, it has the most beautiful yellow gold crystal clear color. The wine is starting to develop the honey and graham cracker characteristics that I associate with chardonnay with a few years on it. These are characteristics that I enjoy in this style Chard. The wine was paired with crab cakes, steamed green beans and almond encrusted Turbot.

  • This is my second of six bottles and my recollections are about the same between the two tastings about a year apart. The beautiful golden color is accompanied by vanilla and pear notes, with a minerally, almost metallic finish. Unfortunately this bottle didn't do it for me either, which is a shame as I had high hopes for this wine when I bought it last year. I've come to realize I'm just not a fan of Miner's Chardonnays, which is a shame since I like everything else they put out. Oh well though, others seem to love the stuff. I tasted it across three nights. The first night showed the notes above, the second night the racy characteristics seemed to mellow out a bit. I poured a glass of the 1/3rd bottle that was left the third night and it was shot.
