Intriguing on the first whiff, but instead of getting better with air it got more muddled and a little dirtier. Initially seemed promising for its dark black-fruited pitch combined with savory notes suggesting olives or tapenade. This was in a much deeper register than the '49 Rouget. But with more air the aromas started to take on some swimming pool and seawater scents and it started to lose focus. Impressive more for holding up at all - one of the war vintages, after all - and still having some depth, but otherwise not terribly compelling.
