Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • This is just a baby and needs a good deal of time, but the structure is there, with really nice acidity, ripe tannins and a big concentration of fruit. All the classic components are there, dark cherry & blackberries, smokiness & gaminess, pepper & spice and a violet-like floral component, so there is a lot to like. This saw 100% new oak, so stylistically, this is closer to the Guigal camp, but it must have had a lighter toast because it thankfully doesn't come across as a vanilla-bomb and it has the fruit that can stand up to it.
