Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 91 points

  • Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity aromas of black fruit of blackberry and cassis, floral notes of violet, sweet spice of clove, kernel notes of coffee, oak notes of toast, animal notes of leather. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium alcohol, with medium body and medium (+) intensity flavours of black fruit of blackberry, sweet spice of clove, oak notes of toast, herbal notes of medicinal, kernel notes of coffee. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Cote-Rotie with a reasonably intense nose showing good complexity, the wine has a nice elegance, with a finesse on the palate that is a good example of how a well-made Syrah can taste. Instead of only the all-powerful fruity characters, there are subtlety, with silky tannin and good balance of acidity and ripeness to make the wine lively, with decent concentration and finish. It is ready to drink now but can further develop for another 4-6 years.
